Privacy Policy

Perfusion.dev publishes Gekelo and this website. This policy covers the app and the site: what stays on your Mac, what may leave it, and what this site may measure. If you have a question, contact Support.
The Gekelo app
Gekelo is a menu-bar companion that opens the websites you choose in a side panel. You do not need a Gekelo account.
- Panel layout, bookmarks, and site data, including cookies and storage from the pages you open, stay on your Mac.
- The ad- and tracker-blocking lists are bundled in the app, so Gekelo does not fetch them from our servers while you browse.
- Gekelo may download site favicons so the panel can show them.
- We do not include app analytics, and we do not sell your browsing data.
- If macOS sends crash or diagnostic reports, that follows your Apple privacy settings.
Purchases
Gekelo Pro subscriptions are sold through the Mac App Store. Apple handles payment and billing, and Gekelo does not receive your card details. Your Pro entitlement is managed through StoreKit and your Apple Account.
Private panels
If you protect a private panel, Touch ID or your Mac password is checked locally by Apple’s LocalAuthentication framework. Gekelo does not receive your biometric data or your password.
Cookies and sessions
Cookies and other site storage stay on your Mac. Gekelo does not send them to us, and we do not have a Gekelo account system that stores browsing sessions for you.
When you sign in to a site in a panel, that site keeps you signed in with cookies stored locally on your Mac in that panel’s browsing profile. We do not read those cookies or copy your sessions elsewhere.
The sites you open still receive the cookies they need to work, under their own privacy policies. That traffic is between your Mac and those sites.
You can clear cookies and other site data for a profile in Gekelo’s preferences.
Permissions
A site in the panel may ask for camera, microphone, location, screen sharing, system audio, or notifications. macOS asks you first, and you can change these choices later in System Settings or in Gekelo’s preferences.
If you allow it, that access goes to the site that asked. Gekelo does not keep or upload your camera, microphone, location, screen content, or system audio.
What leaves your Mac
Pages you open talk to their own servers. Gekelo may download their icons so the panel can show them. App updates come from the Mac App Store. The filter lists are bundled in the app and are not fetched from Gekelo servers while you browse.
macOS may send crash or diagnostic data according to your Apple settings. That is Apple’s process, not Gekelo collecting usage data.
This website
We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity on this website to understand traffic and improve the site. These tools may set cookies and collect usage data, and they load only if you accept analytics cookies. You can refuse analytics cookies, and we do not sell this data.
If you use the support form, we receive the details you submit, such as your name, email, reason, and message, so we can reply. We use that information only to handle your request and keep it only as long as needed to reply. If you want to ask about a message you sent, contact Support.
